H.T.K.DA Origin Martial Arts practice date back to about 50 B.C. These earliest forms of korean martial arts are known as 'Taek Kyon'. After World War II, when Korea became independent, several kwans were formed. These kwans were: Chung Do Kwan, Moo Duk Kwan, Yun Moo Kwan, Chang Moo Kwan, Oh Do Kwan, Ji Do Kwan, Chi Do Kwan, Song Mo
o Kwan. In the beginning of 1957, the name Tae kwon do was adopted by several Korean martial arts masters, for its similarity to the name Tae Kyon. It was a requirement by General Choi Hong- for the army to train Tae kwon do, so the very first Tae kwon do students were Korean soldiers.

Modern-day Tae kwon do is no longer a requirement in the army, however, a positive influence all around the world "HTKDA" was founded while I was teaching some soldiers from different division such as 3ID, 10th Mountain etc....on March 2005 in one of our MWR located at Camp Liberty Baghdad, Iraq while supporting OIF III (Operation Iraqi Freedom 3).Our mission is for the growth of The Tae kwon do around the world by teaching different generations the importance of self confidence and the positive aspects

of life. We want teach you how to develop an appreciation for Tae kwon do as a sport and as an art by achieving physical fitness through positive participation. This will improve your mental discipline and emotional equanimity as well as self-defense skills. You will also learn how to develop a sense of responsibility for one self and others.
